Just me doing what I know how to do. Im a really old soul, I rarely am listening to anything new. And Im a huge Motown nerd (did you know that Chong, from Cheech and Chong was signed to Motown at one point?) Anyhow, I hear records and sometimes see a different vision for them. Not just me rhyming but me actually trying to mix both times and genres together and totally give these classic records new life. In this instance it was me going over not just "Aint Nuthin Like The Real Thing"...but me going over the strings, bass, and background vocals of a young Ashford and Simpson. Chopped it up a bit, gave it a more hip hop sequence and bam. Decided to talk about what was real to me, and what wasnt. Hope you dig it.
